Just a quick post to kick off the unofficial start of summer, and beach season, although we know many of you have the luxury being able to head to the beach and have it be warm 6+ months of the year.  Here in Oregon where we are, we are blessed by having a tremendously beautiful coast so will be spending time this weekend at Ecola State Park, part of Cannon Beach, and Sunset Beach as I can drive my truck onto the beach.  Water is a tad chilly, low 50s, but I will be in along with some of the hardier folks.

And as it's Memorial Day Weekend, that means Dr. Beach has announced his top 10 US beaches for 2019.  Kailua Beach Park on the Hawaiian island of Oahu is this year's #1 beach.  6 of the beaches are on the east coast representing 5 different states with Florida placing 2 beaches on the list.  The west coast, California, has 1 beach and 3 are in Hawaii. Personally, I have been to 6 of the beaches on this year's top 10 list with my favorites being Kailua Beach Park and Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach on North Carolina's Outer Banks.
